Everett D. Besch Distinguished Service Award
Recommendations for this award must be made in writing by two LVMA members
(one of them may be a board member) and must be presented to the LVMA Board at a
formal meeting and approved by a majority voice vote.
This award was changed from the LVMA Service Award to the Dr. Everett D. Besch
Distinguished Service Award in August 1997 in recognition of outstanding service to the
community and to the veterinary profession.
Those eligible for the award are in two categories:
- Veterinarians who have made an outstanding contribution to their community.
- Non-veterinarians who have made an outstanding contribution to veterinary medicine.
It is suggested that Board members not be eligible during their term of office.
